Mr. Bear is always the first one on the “green beans” backs!

Mr. Bear is the first introduction to having a rider. The horses learn that something sitting up on their backs is nothing to be afraid of. They get used to him hanging, flopping and sometimes falling off (it happens to the best of us) lol!

Mr. Bear is a favorite stage of training for a lot of my followers. I promote making training fun. Learning should never be stressful. If it’s fun then progress and the new lessons stick in their heads. Good experiences, calm environment are key!

First she follows me with the bear. I put him on my shoulders to get her used to something above her
Letting her investigate the bear while he’s on my shoulders and above her is very important to set her up to succeed having him on her back.
First I lay him over her back, she can see him on both sides for her first time
I make sure to move her feet with the bear laying over her just like her first ride will go with a human
Always let them check out the new thing being introduced
She took very good care of Mr. Bear

I specialize in problem horses, youngsters, horse rehabilitation and achieving softness and a better relationship between horse and their rider. I not only train horses but humans as well. Not your typical riding lesson but I can, if you so choose, teach you to train your horse! I’m always available to help answer questions or share photos or videos upon request to better illustrate my advice. I’ve mastered the “don’t break the bank” way of keeping your horse healthy and cared for while on a budget. If you walk into almost any large barn in Oregon you’re bound to meet a horse I trained or sold! I’ve trained over 623 horses and counting! I post updates as I receive them from clients and buyers. Thank you for taking the time to browse and hopefully learn something new!
